Unlocking Phone is Illegal Now

unlock is illegal

Never thought 2013 will begin with such crappy news. This is something against our freedom. Freedom of what we want to do about something we paid and own.

But it’s true that UNLOCKING phones is NOW iLLEGAL.

Though it won’t apply to the phone you have unlocked till Jan25, 2013. As iPhone tops the most unlocked phones in US, carrier like T-Mobile might start suffering, since it’s the no. 1 carrier of choice for unlocked iPhone users.

And even with the other phones, Now your cellphone carriers won’t unlock your phone like earlier days when you would call them and say you were going out of the country.

This law sucks, wish Americans were like Nepalese, who would protest against such crap.

If one does Unlock, what’s the damage ?
Civil penalties are based on the carrier’s actual damages and any additional profits of the violator, or a court can award statutory damages of not less than $200 or more than $2,500 per individual act. Criminal penalties are even more severe: any person convicted of violating section 1201 willfully and for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain (1) shall be fined not more than $500,000 or imprisoned for not more than 5 years, or both, for the first offense; and (2) shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned for not more than 10 years, or both, for any subsequent offense.

Facebook Search Engine is Here

facebook graph search

There were rumors that Facebook is working on something and finally it has been announced. It is “Search Engine”.

Seems like it’s an answer to Google+ by Google. Facebook was growing as the ONLY social media for both personal and business use. But when Google+ came up, it really gave Facebook a good competition and grabbed many Facebook users to Google+ with some of their features like Hangout.

So, now it looks like Facebook is preparing to hit Google back where it hurts the most, Search Engine.

Lets hope for the best for Facebook’s Graph Search, as competition is always better for the consumer/users like us.

Here’s the intro about Facebook’s Graph Search:

Also MY GUESS: In Apple next version of iOS upgrade, iOS-7, you can ask lot of stuffs to Siri and she will answer your questions so correct, it’ll amaze you. Yes Facebook Graph Search will integrate with iOS-7.

World’s First 24-Bit/96K Mic For iOS Devices

I always thought someone would come up with a good quality microphone for my iPhone. Yes, there are many in the market, but that aren’t good enough to record musical covers I do. So, there was no way I could record covers outside my room.

Thankfully, Rode is here with 24bit/96khz microphone. And that’s awesome. I believe this will be in everyone’s pocket soon, as this is the most portable high quality device, as we always have our iPhones with us.

Thanks to Rode, good quality audio outdoor looks easy achieving.

It has been priced 199.00 and is available for pre-order from various online stores.

Free Alternatives To Photoshop

Couple months back I started sharing my knowledge on Photoshop and started posting tutorial videos on my YouTube page. The response and support was overwhelming. But on the other hand, many had one issue, “They don’t have PHOTOSHOP”.

Since then I have been trying some free graphic software that could be a good alternative to Photoshop. So, I searched 7 best reviewed software and tried it. And here are two of them I would recommend as free alternatives for Photoshop. You might not get all those Photoshop features but all you get in these 2 software are enough to make great images.

1. Gimp

Keep making great images.

UPDATE: How can I miss the BEST alternative to Photoshop. It’s PIXELMATOR. The Closest you can get to Photoshop for 14.99

Sony Reveals 4K Consumer Level Camcorder

Sony yesterday launched a working 4K consumer level concept camcorder. It’s definitely a great news for everyone. May be 2013 will be the beginning of 4K home videos.

But for me there’s a scary part when this will be available and people in Nepal will start buying it. Hope people won’t start making feature films just because they own on of these.

Google Praising Apple’s iPad

Yes, it’s hard to believe but what you see it 100% true. A bug in google text-to-speech was causing Google Now and Google Translate to praise Apple’s iPad. Though people found it very humorous, it was a nightmare to the people at Google. Both Google Now and Translate were brought down and had been fixed now.

… he now praises the iPad.

Here’s another one:
